Who Cares?

At this moment in time, there are many uncertainties around government support for our work on behalf of the environment and our community. However, we are committed to continuing that work—now is not the time to stop caring.
We know climate change is devastating to our health and our livelihoods. It is the unseasonable, intense hurricane that takes our neighbors years to recover from. It is the smoke of Canadian wildfires that thicken our air and turn our sky a hazy orange midday. It is the catastrophic flooding in central Connecticut. And it is the local species disappearing from Long Island Sound that cannot survive the warming water temperatures.
Here at The Maritime Aquarium, we care.
We care about preparing for our future and making our communities more resilient. We care about adopting sustainable practices that will serve as an example to other organizations. We care about educating the next generation of leaders who will continue this fight.
We care because we have one blue planet.
In these times of evolving uncertainties, our mission—to ignite a connection—is more important than ever. It places community at the center of everything we do because we cannot fight these challenges alone. Now and always, our connection to each other strengthens us.

Through this moment and with your continued support, we will provide world-class programs in STEM-education, protect Long Island Sound’s wildlife and habitats, and inspire environmental stewardship.
We care. And we bet you do too.
